The art is evolving!!!!

Hiii!!!

We've got some nice updates for the game, mostly in the visual area.

But first, I wanna talk a little bit about the changes made to the main core mechanics and the mechanics of the game itself:

Main Core Mechanics:

We have been struggling a bit with our time to work on the project here, so there will be a few mechanics that will change or be taken out of the original idea for the time being. For instance, the plan to have achievements and power-ups will be left out for a while. We are planning to add them later but not for now due to the time we have to complete the project.

Another part of the game that will undergo changes but will not be left out are the hazards and enemies. We will be implementing one enemy of the bunch we had planned. We want it to work perfectly, so we hope this will be of benefit for us. As for the hazards, we are still planning to implement a lot of them, but many of the hazards we hoped to add, such as vacuum cleaners, temperature changes, etc., might not be so easy to keep given the time we have on our hands at the moment.

Art:

We have been working more on the characters for the game, and mostly, on the game screens and UI elements.

We have also started the process of making assets for the map, and we are hoping these will be a huge benefit for the level design and the experience of the gameplay so far.

Characters:

We have the enemy ready to have his textures and rigging done :D

The main character (Hampter as we have named him), is also ready to have his textures done and rigging, We have a surprise for his animations that we are hopping to be able to pull through and we just know everyone will love.

New assets:

So far, we have mainly assets that are to be interacted with. Some of them will be for the player to pick up and move around; others are part of the main core mechanics (food, water puddles, and poop). Additionally, other assets will be able to be moved around but not picked up.

We are starting to make furniture for the house too and a lot of new assets that will bring some context to the game and block off the actual map so far.

Screens and UI:

We are quite proud of the progress of these so far. The drawings on the back have animations that make the whole thing feel a lot more active and fun.

We did deviate a bit from the actual color scheme we had planned. We initially wanted to use mainly pastel colors, and we might change the colors to a more pastel and light color scheme in the future. However, so far, we really like how the screens look.

These have been the changes so far, soon we will upload the new prototype for you guys to play and see for yourselves,

Thanks for reading :D !!!
